Rick D Pavlu, Senior Pastor


Pastor Ricki D. Pavlu was born and reared in Jennings, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana with honors and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1975 in the field of Botany. In 1978, he graduated with a 4.0 average and received his Master of Science degree in the field of Plant Systematics. He was preparing to begin work for his Doctorate Degree at the University of Illinois when he was called into the ministry. In addition to teaching at Louisiana Tech University for two years, he has also taught seminars on creation across the country, as well as being heard on a National Public Broadcasting radio program disputing scientific claims of evolution. He is still considered a leading expert in the area of creation science. In 1975, he married Beverly Green of Leesville, Louisiana. They now have three children: Corrie, Jared, and Layna; and two grandchildren, Hudson and Graham. Corrie, Jared, and Layna have graduate from college in Speech Language Pathology, Mechanical Engineering, and Fashion Merchandising respectively. Corrie is married to Jonathan Walton, who graduated with a Master's of Audiology. Jared is married to Jen, who earned her degree in Graphic Design from North Western State University. Pastor Pavlu was ordained as a minister of the United Pentecostal Church International in 1978. After evangelizing for three years, he became pastor of The Church Point Pentecostals in Church Point, Louisiana, where he has been for the past 28 years. He has written two books, Evolution: When Fact Became Fiction (1986), and Kids Under Construction (2007).
